KACO new energy Celebrates Start of Construction of 400MW San Antonio Project
08 March 2013 – In early March, KACO new energy and its consortium partners celebrated the start of construction on the first part of the San Antonio project, which will deliver a total of 400MW of solar power once completed. By the end of the year, the 41MW tranche will provide electricity for 7,000 households to CPS Energy, the city of San Antonio's utility company.

DEGER Supplies 48 Tracking Systems Free of Concrete Foundation for New Solar Park in Greece
07-Mar-2013 The new solar park near Vagia Viotias was constructed without any concrete foundations. In the words of Ioannis Pistiolis, CEO of the installation company GreenTop: "We are exceptionally happy that we decided to use the steel roots from DEGER to anchor the system. We had a lot of rain during the construction work, and the soil was very damp. In this case we would have had serious problems with concrete foundations. Instead the entire construction process went perfectly."

Five-Megawatt Kalaeloa Solar Farm Developed by SunPower Generates Power on Oahu
March 8, 2013 - Today, Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie will join representatives of the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands and Hawaiian Electric Company in a dedication ceremony for a new five-megawatt Kalaeloa Solar Farm in West Oahu. The event is hosted by Bright Plain Renewable Energy, L.L.C., which manages the solar farm, and SunPower Corp., which designed and built the project. The Kalaeloa Solar Farm was acquired in November 2012 by an affiliate of D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments, L.L.C. in partnership with BPRE.

BIJ, finergia and meeco sign MoU on Japanese Market
March 7, 2013 - The meeco Group has made a significant step forward in its penetration of the Japanese solar market by agreeing on Terms for a new joint venture (JV) with BIJ Corporation and finergia advisory & finance. The Memorandum of Understanding signed on February 22 covers the venture's aim, which is to cooperate in the installation of solar photovoltaic capacity both in Japan and neighboring markets such as the Fiji Islands. The meeco Group will bring along its know-how to the joint venture to deliver quality PV Solar projects in Japan.
