    Yingli Green Energy Wins 233MW Solar PV Projects in Algeria

    Dec. 16, 2013 - Yingli Green Energy, known as "Yingli Solar", today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Yingli Energy (China) Company Limited ("Yingli China"), together with Sinohydro Corporation Limited and Hydrochina Corporation ("Hydrochina"), formed a three-party Consortium ("Consortium") to win 233 megawatts of PV projects in Algeria. The projects will be developed by Shariket el Kahraba wa el Taket el Moutadiadida (SKTM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sonelgaz (National Society for Electricity and Gas).

    Suniva Awarded $4.5 Million for Innovations in Solar Manufacturing

    Dec. 12, 2013 - The United States Department of Energy announced yesterday that Suniva has been awarded a $4.5 million grant to pursue innovations in its manufacturing processes for solar cells and modules. This award funds attractive next generation technologies that are capable of reducing the cost of solar panels below $0.50/watt with improvements that increase module power while decreasing manufacturing costs.

    Canadian Solar Announces 100MW Module Supply Agreement with Zhenfa New Energy in China

    Dec. 12, 2013 - Canadian Solar today announced that it has been awarded a module supply agreement to provide Zhenfa New Energy Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (Zhenfa New Energy) with photovoltaic ("PV") modules totaling 100MW for three solar power projects located in Gansu Province and one solar project in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China.

    Hanwha SolarOne Signs 13MW Module Supply Contract in China

    Dec. 11, 2013 - Hanwha SolarOne today announced it has signed a contract with Zhejiang Zhentai New Energy Development Co., Ltd. (a member of the "Chint Group") to supply modules with capacity of 12.96MW. The modules are scheduled for delivery in December 2013 and will be installed in a utility-scale project in Yongchang, Gansu Province.

    BYD and Strata Solar Finalize 160 MW Solar Panel and Battery Deal for 2014

    After several meetings and facility tours at BYD’s production facilities in Shenzhen, BYD and Strata Solar have announced an extensive solar partnership for 2014. Chapel Hill-based Strata Solar has inked a deal with BYD to purchase 160 MW’s of their premium solar panels which represents over a third of Strata’s scheduled construction work for 2014. In addition to the panel deal, BYD and Strata will work together to implement BYD’s world leading battery technology into a series of Strata Solar’s utility farm projects in order to maximize production and efficiencies.

    Hanwha SolarOne Completes 50MW Module Supply Contracts with China Huaneng Group

    Dec. 10, 2013 - Hanwha SolarOne today announced it has supplied modules for two projects with an aggregate capacity of 50MW to China Huaneng Group. The modules were delivered to two separate utility-scale installations: (i) an approximately 30MW in Qingtongxia, a city in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (NHAR) and (ii) a 20MW project in Wuchuan, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

    Suntech Announces Update on Subsidiary Share Transfers and Restructuring Process

    Dec. 10, 2013 - Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. today announced that on November 14, 2013, the Joint Provisional Liquidators ("JPLs") of the Company passed a sole shareholder's resolution placing Power Solar System Co., Ltd. ("PSS"), an immediate subsidiary of the Company, into liquidation pursuant to the Insolvency Act of the British Virgin Islands ("BVI"), the jurisdiction of its incorporation. Liquidators have since been appointed over PSS.

Together with the Swedish Light Energy AB, a subsidiary of Fasadglas Bäcklin AB, Masdar PV faced the balcony railing of a residential building in Smorblomman, Sweden, with photovoltaic panels.
