    SunPower to Supply Toshiba with 20.1% Efficiency Solar Panel in Japan

    On Dec. 4, 2012, SunPower Corporation announced that it will supply Toshiba with its new solar panel beginning in December. SunPower's new E20/250NE solar panel features a 20.1 percent efficiency rating delivering 250 watts per 72-cell module, and will be marketed exclusively by Toshiba in the Japanese homes segment. The module features the all-back contact Maxeon™ solar cell designed and manufactured by SunPower Corporation.

    Chevron Energy Solutions Completes 1MW Solar System in City of Hanford

    City of Hanford and Chevron Energy Solutions today announced completion of a transformative solar program expected to reduce energy costs at the city's wastewater treatment plant and save more than $7 million over the program's life. The installation uses a one-megawatt ground-mounted single-axis solar tracking system, which automatically positions solar panels towards the sun.

    Solar Frontier has received orders from Mitsui & Co., Ltd., and its partners for 92,000 CIS thin-film modules for use in utility-scale solar projects throughout Japan.Totalling 14.1MW, these CIS modules will be installed in four projects, starting with Yamanashi Mega-Solar (provisional name) in Kai City and Nirasaki City, Yamanashi Prefecture (total: 10.3MW).

    SunPower Announces Supply Agreement with Kubokura for T5 Solar Roof Tile

    SunPower Corporation today announced that Kubokura Densetsu Co. Ltd. has signed a supply agreement for its T5 Solar Roof Tile.  Kubokura will install the T5 Solar Roof Tile on four leased rooftops in the Kanagawa Prefecture. Utilizing the country's new feed-in-tariff, Kubokura will sell the electricity generated by the 540-kilowatt solar systems back to the grid through the local utility. The clean energy generated will be enough to serve more than 180 homes.

    Canadian Solar Receives C$139 Million Non-Recourse Construction Financing Agreement

    Canadian Solar Inc. today announced that it has signed a financing agreement pursuant to which Deutsche Bank has agreed to provide C$139 million (US$139 million) in non-recourse, short-term construction financing to Canadian Solar for the construction of solar power projects in Ontario, Canada. The loans are expected to be repaid with the proceeds of the sale of the respective financed projects.

    First Solar Partners with Zhenfa on Thin-film PV Demonstration Project in China

    First Solar, Inc. has completed an agreement with Zhenfa New Energy Science & Technology Co., Ltd. to supply 2 megawatts (MW) of First Solar's thin-film solar modules to one of Zhenfa's approved solar projects in Xinjiang province in the first quarter of 2013. The collaboration will create First Solar's first commercial demonstration project in China.
