    S.A.G. Solarstrom: 44MWp in the UK Completed on Schedule in Q1

    April 5, 2013 - S.A.G. Solarstrom AG has completed three ground-mounted projects on schedule by March 31, 2013 in the UK. Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) have been concluded for all the systems. The largest system, with a total of 33MWp, has been installed in Wymeswold, Leicestershire, on a former Royal Air Force base. Two other ground-mounted systems, each with over 5 MWp, have been constructed in the south-west of England. With punctual completion at the end of the first quarter, S.A.G. Solarstrom AG proves its competence in the construction of photovoltaic projects with power plant dimensions.

    SRP and SunPower Dedicate Completed C7 Tracker Solar Power System at ASU Polytechnic Campus

    April 5, 2013 - Salt River Project (SRP) and SunPower Corp. today are dedicating a one-megawatt solar photovoltaic power plant at Arizona State University's (ASU) Polytechnic campus in Mesa, Ariz. The facility is the first commercial deployment of the SunPower® C7 Tracker (C7 Tracker) technology, a solar photovoltaic tracking system that concentrates the sun's power seven times to achieve one of the lowest levelized costs of electricity (LCOE) for solar power plants available today.

    LDK Solar Provides Update on Purchase Agreement for LDK Anhui

    LDK Solar Co., Ltd. today announced that it continues to work with the relevant governmental agencies on the review and approval of the purchase agreement for LDK Anhui. The purchase agreement was announced on January 2, 2013, with Shanghai Qianjiang Group. According to the terms of the agreement, Qianjiang Group agreed to purchase all shares of LDK Anhui, located in Hefei City, for approximately RMB 25 million and release the guarantee LDK Solar provided to LDK Anhui and its subsidiaries within 12 months, as well as compensate LDK Solar for any loss associated with such guarantee, prior to its release. The planned closing date for this purchase agreement was originally set for March 31, 2013 subject to relevant governmental approvals.

    Blue Oak Energy Builds 4.2 MW Utility Scale Solar Facilities in Gridley, CA

    Blue Oak Energy has completed the delivery of a 4.2MWp utility scale solar power generation facility in Gridley, California. The electricity generated by the Gridley solar facility will be directed to two members of the Northern California Power Agency (NCPA) through separate energy meters: the City of Gridley and the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). The project was developed by LightBeam Energy, Inc.

    Walgreens Extends Its Renewable Energy Commitment to 22 Stores in Colorado with SolarCity

    April 1, 2013 – Walgreens today announced an expansion of its renewable energy initiative to Colorado with SolarCity. SolarCity will implement solar systems at 22 Walgreens stores across 14 different cities in Colorado in the coming months. The new solar systems cumulatively will reduce more than 47.5 million pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions over the next 20 years, which is comparable to planting 25,711 trees.*
