    SPI Solar Acquires 6MW Solar Project in Japan

    SPI Solar today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire both land and project development rights for a 6MW project in Susami City, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. The agreement calls for SPI's Japan subsidiary, SPI Solar Japan GK, to provide engineering, procurement and construction ("EPC") services for the project, which SPI will own following its completion. Construction on the project is scheduled to begin in November 2014, with completion expected by August 2015.

    Primrose Solar has selected Solarcentury to build a solar farm on the Southwick Estate in Fareham, Portsmouth that will produce enough clean solar electricity to power 11,000 average-sized homes. Both companies are aligned in pursuing a holistic approach to the construction and operation of the 48MW solar farm, with environmental considerations incorporated throughout the planning, construction and operational lifetime of the solar farm.

    Trina Solar's Monocrystalline Module Sets a New World Record for Pmax of 335.2W

    Trina Solar Limited today announced that its high-efficiency Honey solar module has set a new world record for peak power output for P-type monocrystalline silicon PV modules, as independently certified by TUV Rheinland. The module was developed in the Company's State Key Lab of PV Science and Technology and is composed of 60 156mm x 156mm high-efficiency Honey monocrystalline silicon cells. It generates a peak power output of 335.2W, breaking the previous world record of 326.3W, set by Trina's Solar's original Honey module in April 2014.

    Sunpreme Deploys 6.35MW Solar Panels in Massachusetts

    Sunpreme Inc. announced that it has deployed 6.35MW of Solar Panels for Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard, MA. The solar projects were developed and built by American Capital Energy (ACE) and majority of the installations are on capped landfills. The energy output of these projects is fed into the local grid with the net metering benefit going to the Cape and Vineyard Electric Cooperative (CVEC) and its member communities.

    SunPower Supplies 41MW Solar Panels to La Compagnie du Vent

    SunPower announced today that it is supplying 41MW of its high efficiency solar panels to La Compagnie du Vent for the construction of four solar power plants in France. The first of the projects, the 12MW Langele solar power plant, was dedicated earlier this month in France's Aquitaine region.
