Tata Power Solar announced a significant expansion and modernisation of its cell and module manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. The two-stage expansion doubled the company's module capacity to 400 from 200MW, and increased its cell manufacturing capacity by 65 per cent from 180 to 300MW. -

Canadian Solar Signs PPAs with SECI to Develop 80MW Solar Projects in India
Canadian Solar Inc. today announced that it has secured Power Purchase Agreements for an aggregate 80MWac of solar power projects with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). Canadian Solar was awarded these projects under a 450MWac solar capacity tender in the state of Maharashtra, through a competitive auction process. These projects are scheduled to commence operations by late 2017 and will generate clean solar electricity for SECI over the next 25 years. -

SPI Energy Announces Sale of Two Solar Projects in Japan
SPI Energy Co., Ltd. today announced that SPI Solar Japan GK has entered into a definitive agreement to sell all of its interest in the land and project development rights in its two solar PV projects with total capacity of 4.8MW in Shibayama city, Chiba. SPI Japan will also provide engineering, procurement and construction ("EPC") service to complete the projects. -

Edify Energy and Wirsol Complete Financing for 198MW Solar Farm in Australia
Edify Energy and Wirsol have successfully completed Australia's single solar project financing to build and operate three new solar farms: the Whitsunday and Hamilton Solar Farms in Queensland, and the Gannawarra Solar Farm in Victoria. When complete in Q1 2018, the Queensland and Victorian markets will benefit from an additional 198MW of renewable capacity, including the first large-scale solar farm in Victoria. -

Infinity Solar, ib vogt and Solizer Secure 64.1MW Solar Plant at Benban
Infinity Solar S.A.E., ib vogt GmbH and Solizer GmbH & Co. KG have announced the successful closure of a 64.1MW solar power plant project in Benban, Aswan, Egypt by the Infinity 50 consortium of which they are members. The project was approved by the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company on 6 March 2017, confirming financial close under the first round of the Egyptian Feed-in Tariff (FiT) programme.
