NEXTracker today announced that it will ship its trackers to DEPCOM Power for the 42MW (DC) Paw Paw Solar Facility in central Georgia. The Paw Paw project, recently acquired by Southern Company subsidiary Georgia Power, is coming to fruition thanks to the Georgia Power Advanced Solar Initiative. Construction on Paw Paw began in June and the plant is due to be completed by the end of 2015.

"DEPCOM is excited to be deploying NEXTracker technology on this Georgia Power solar project. We believe this tracker represents an effective solution for utility-scale arrays, with faster installation speed, and reduced field wiring cost," said Jim Lamon, CEO, DEPCOM Power.

"We're thrilled to be partnering with DEPCOM and providing NEXTracker technology for a solar power plant in Georgia," said NEXTracker CEO Dan Shugar. "It is an honor to collaborate with visionary energy companies such as DEPCOM Power and Southern Company's Georgia Power in expanding solar deployment in the growing Southeast region."
