Owens Corning Selects Constellation to Develop 2.6MW Solar Project for Delmar N.Y. Facility
Owens Corning (OC) and Constellation today announced the development of a 2.6-megawatt (DC) solar generation project that will supply clean energy to the company's thermal and acoustical insulation plant in Delmar, N.Y. Scheduled for completion in late 2013, the solar project is designed to supply more than 6 percent of the plant's annual electricity needs and will support Owens Corning's 2020 Environmental Footprint Goals for energy use and greenhouse gas emissions reduction. -

Canadian Solar's Partner Romano Wins Eskom Rooftop Project in Johannesburg
May 15, 2013 - Canadian Solar Inc. today announced the successful expansion of its partner Romano Sustainable Solutions in Africa. Romano was recently awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a 360kW PV solar system installation. The roof top installation will be on the Johannesburg headquarters of Eskom. -

Nippon Paper Industries to Undertake 21MW Solar Project in Tokushima
May 14, 2013 - Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. will launch Shikoku's largest mega-solar project (capacity of approximately 21 megawatts) in collaboration with Mitsubishi Corporation on part of the land (approximately 250,000 m2) owned by Nippon Paper Industries in Komatsushima-shi, Tokushima Prefecture. The construction of the facilities will commence this autumn. The electricity to be generated will be sold to Shikoku Electric Power Co., Inc. from the latter half of 2014 under Japan's feed-in tariff system. -

aleo solar AG mit Umsatzrückgang im ersten Quartal 2013
14. Mai 2013. Die aleo solar AG hat in den ersten drei Monaten des Jahres 2013 einen Umsatz von 31,1 Mio. Euro erzielt. Damit fiel der Umsatz gegenüber dem ersten Vorjahresquartal (74,6 Mio. Euro) um 58,3 Prozent. Das EBIT betrug –16,3 Mio. Euro (–8,2 Mio. Euro), die EBIT-Marge lag bei –52,4 Prozent (–11,0 Prozent). Das Ergebnis je Aktie beläuft sich auf –1,35 Euro (–0,63 Euro). -

Hyundai Heavy to Take Its Hands off of Polysilicon Business
May 07, 2013 - Hyundai Heavy Industries has withdrawn from the polysilicon manufacturing business following a gratis retirement of stocks of Korean Advanced Materials, a polysilicon maker jointly established by Hyundai Heavy and KCC Group. It was because of the protracted downturn in the solar power business, a Hyundai Heavy official said.
