LG to Build 33MW Solar Power Plant in Japan
LG CNS said Tuesday it will build a 33MW solar power plant in Japan. The system solution provider and LG Group affiliate said it has won a 130 billion won ($112.1 million) deal to establish the Imaichi solar power plant in the Oita prefecture over the next two years. -

Canadian Solar Completes Construction and Financing Loan from Manulife
Canadian Solar Inc. today announced that The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company ("Manulife") has agreed to provide approximately C$52.8 Million (US$40.8 Million) in construction and term financing to Canadian Solar for the Aria solar plant located in Springwater, Ontario, Canada. The Aria project will be acquired by Concord Green Energy Inc. ("Concord") after commercial operation. BowMont Capital and Advisory acted as the Financial Advisor to Concord. Developed by Canadian Solar, the 9MW AC Aria solar power plant is under construction, with grid connection expected to occur in the fourth quarter of 2015. -

Welspun Renewables Commissions Maharashtra’s 52MW Solar Project
Welspun Renewables has commissioned Maharashtra’s first mega solar capacity under the PPP (Public Private Partnership) model. The one of its kind 52MW (DC) power plant can be a good model for realizing Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji’s 100GW solar capacity vision by 2022. The Baramati project will generate enough green energy to power 240,000 households. Estimated 83,220 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions will be mitigated each year. -

SunEdison Announces Definitive Agreement to Acquire Vivint Solar
SunEdison, Inc., Vivint Solar and TerraForm Power, Inc. today announced that SunEdison and Vivint Solar have signed a definitive merger agreement pursuant to which SunEdison will acquire Vivint Solar for approximately $2.2 billion, payable in a combination of cash, shares of SunEdison common stock and SunEdison convertible notes. -

Canadian Solar Completes Three PV Plants Totaling 5.2MW in Japan
Canadian Solar Inc. today announced that it completed construction and grid connection of three of its solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants in Japan, with a total of approximately 5.2MW, including the 2.2MW Tsukuba Stones Solar Power Plant in Kasama City, the 2.0MW Tomigaoka Solar Power Plant in Isa City and the 1.0MW Isa City Solar Power Plant in Isa City. -
