    Azure Power Completed First Phase of 14MW Rooftop Solar Plant in Delhi

    Azure Power announced the successful installation and operation of its rooftop solar power plant for Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) at the Sultanpur facility. This is the first phase of a 14MW allocation by DMRC to Azure Power. The tariff on the project is INR 5.55 per kWh (US$ 0.083), with a total subsidy of INR 167.4 million (US$ 2.514 million). The company will supply power for 25 years which will be utilized for DMRC's operations. The 14MW project will be completed in phases and will cover several metro stations, workshops and parking lots.

    Canadian Solar Secures GBP49.3 Million Refinancing for 50MW PV Projects

    Canadian Solar Inc. today announced that it has secured GBP 49.3 million (US$62.8 million) non-recourse term loan facilities to refinance a portfolio of 10 solar power plants, with total capacity of 50 megawatts in the United Kingdom. National Westminster Bank (NatWest), a subsidiary of RBS Group, is providing the 18.7-year term facility. Part of the proceeds will be used to repay a construction loan of GBP 28.1 million (US$35.8 million).

    sPower Connects 107MW Solar Project to the California Grid

    sPower and the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) today announced commencement of commercial operations of the 107 megawatt (MWdc) Solverde 1 solar farm. The project is located in the City of Lancaster, Calif., in northern LA County. sPower installed more than 330,000 solar modules with a peak construction crew of 250 plus workers. The project was developed under an aggressive schedule going from signing the PPA to completing interconnection to building and commissioning the project in just 12 months.
