Hanwha SolarOne is opening its first office in the Israeli market. The office is based in Modiin, near Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and will be managed by Eran Kopel, Hanwha SolarOne's new Sales and Marketing Director for Israel.

"Israel is a very promising market for the PV industry and an important market for Hanwha SolarOne," said Justin Lee, Managing Director of Hanwha SolarOneOne GmbH. "Due to its sunny climate, which provides approximately 1,800 kWh a year, grid parity is just around the corner. With Hanwha Group's strong financial backing, we are ideally positioned to become a key driver in developing Israel's solar power potential and will take a leading role in utility-scale projects."

The new office in Modiin will be run by Eran Kopel, Hanwha SolarOne's newly appointed Sales and Marketing Director for Israel. Kopel has a strong PV industry background: Prior to joining Hanwha SolarOne, he managed sales and marketing for SunPower in Israel and led project development at Inbar.

"Opening the office in Israel was an important first step to improving service for Israeli customers," said Eran Kopel, Sales and Marketing Director of Hanwha SolarOne Israel. "We will now concentrate on investing in strong partnerships with installers, EPCs and developers."
