Solar Frontier K.K. will build a 30MW solar power station with a partner in southwestern Japan.
The plant will be set up in Nagasaki prefecture by a venture between Solar Frontier and Chopro Co., the two companies said in a statement.
Construction will start in April and the plant will begin running in July 2016, according to the statement.
