Solar Trade Volume from Arabic Speaking Countries Doubles

Thanks to economies of scale and technological advances, the cost of solar panels has been constantly dropping. Previously solar technology was only attractive in markets that were subsidised by government support – but thanks to the prices falling so far, now in certain very sunny countries the technology has become attractive even without government subsidies.

ENF Solar, a solar trade site with over 1.6 million users each year, have been tracking the growth in trade volume from Arabic speaking countries flowing through their online trade portal. From 2013 to 2016 the volume of trade in solar products has more than doubled (149% increase in trade orders). The order volume specifically for solar inverters has been even higher – an increase of 168% from 2013 to 2016.

Reacting to this strong increase in demand from Arabic speaking countries, ENF has launched an Arabic-speaking website – https://ar.enfsolar.com The new website lists details on over 28,000 solar companies and 43,000 solar products in Arabic language.
ENF’s CEO Kit Temple commented, "Although Arabic is a stronger technical challenge for websites due to right-to-left layout, we encourage solar manufacturers to create Arabic versions of their websites and product brochures. The importance of the solar market in Middle East and North Africa is increasing fast and the race is on to establish a strong brand presence in those markets."
